Framed chalkboards

I have quite a few frames about 5 x 7” and today I made a few of them into mini magnetic chalkboards.  I bought some vinyl chalkboard a while ago but never used it until today.  I think these smaller chalkboards are great.  They would make great little accent pieces to write seasonal or love notes or even a gentle reminder of something that you, or someone else, needs to do.

I listed two frames in my etsy store today.

This great vintage metal frame.

This is the original patina as I found it.  I just cleaned it up and added the metal and chalkboard.

This one is a wood frame that I painted aqua with hints of silver and some light distressing.

I just love aqua but I’m all out so I need to remember to go to the store and get some more aqua paint.

I picked up a few vintage Syroco, Homco and Dart pieces earlier this week so I hope to have more pieces to show you later this week.  I ‘m liking the chalkboards so I might have a hard time deciding if I should leave a few pieces  as mirrors of if I should convert them to chalkboards.

With no aqua I relied on Navajo white, berry pink and sage for a few pieces I started working on today.  Here’s a sneak peak:

It is a wonder what some cleaning  and a new coat of paint and glaze can do to pieces.
