Silver and Pink Snowflake card

Wow, I really can't believe it has been so long since I have shared any project here on my blog.  I guess time just got away from me.  Not that I haven't been making crafts but mainly I've been making cards and here is one of the holiday cards I made.

Hot pink Christmas cards, sure why not?

Somehow I think they work with the silver embossed paper, glittered paper snowflake, pink accents and stripped ribbon.

Would you make, buy or send out hot pick and silver Christmas cards?

Mother’s Day card

Finally I have a few new cards to post today.  My goal of posting a bit more often hasn’t exactly worked out so far but I really haven’t been doing much crafting for a while.

My crafting area was so out of control that I didn’t have a spot to create.  I had taken over the area where my computer is and that was just as bad.  I started cleaning up each area and ended up with two boxes of crafting supplies I need to put away.

While I was trying to organize some of the supplies I came across a package of tags that I decided to stamp and use on some cards.  I used a few different inks and stamps to create a collage tag with a bit of a vintage feel.

I had a pack of five tags so made a set of five cards, each with a different butterfly accent.  I used walnut ink to color some red and white bakers twine to match the card.

It will be nice to have a few Mother’s Day cards ready for my Etsy shop.

I was able to make one more card with the supplies I had out and used every scrap of the patterned paper I used.

I love that I was able to use up a package of tags and a whole sheet of patterned paper with no leftover scraps.

Be Mine card

I love how all this pink just pops out with the black card base.

The Eiffel tower always makes me think of romance so was perfect for this card and the cute felt bee was just too cute to not add to this card.

These are some of the dollar store and discount store supplies that I used on this and other valentine/love themed cards I recently made.  Felt and snack picks from a dollar store, heart paper doilies and polka dotted tape from Target.

Loves and Kisses card

Another love themed card in black, white and pink.

I think of all the rolled felt flowers I made these with the scalloped edges were my favorite and look the most like actual flowers.

XOXO card

I will craft...Valentine Cards (2)

I thought the card was finished but added  the XOXO ticket sticker at the last minute and it really added the finishing touch.

I was happy to find that the pink in the paper matched the rolled felt flowers and some stripped ribbon I had in my stash. One good thing having a large stash means I usually can find matching items. ;) Yep, a good reason to have a good stash!

Forever card

I had to make a few cards for a card swap and decided to go with a love theme cards that could be used for Valentine's day, wedding or anniversary or just to say I love you to someone special.

I will craft...Valentine Cards

I started with a black card base as I wanted to have a dark base so the color in the patterned paper and felt flowers would really stand and help the cards from looking too much like traditional Valentines.  I used my newest embossing folder, a honeycomb one that I’ve been eyeing for a while.

The heart doily was a great find in the dollar spot section at Target.  I cut and rolled up the felt flowers from a pack of felt I picked up at a local dollar store.  I made over a dozen flowers and still have 10 sheets left in other colors.

$1 Mini Eraser Valentine Art

A few days ago in one of my favorite stores I found a pack of 50 mini Valentine erasers and knew immediately that I wanted to frame them somehow so I quickly picked up a couple packs of them.  I ended up framing them in a couple mini frames that I picked up last year and used on my love frames last year.

 I will craft...Mini Eraser Valentine Art (5)

This was a super quick and easy craft. I used foam dots to attach the erasers to the frame.

The frames will be easy to change out for another holiday season.

Once again the Target Dollar Spot is a great place to get inexpensive seasonal items.

Grab a frame or two and some mini erasers and make your own seasonal decorations.

Merry Valentines???

Tonight I found a card kit on clearance that I had my eye on long before Christmas but since Christmas is over I thought I would use the kit as a base for some Valentine cards.

I found this kit to make 8 cards at Target for less than $3.  Yes, the tag says $3.98 but they were only $2.38. havestampswillcraft merry valentine (1)

I had this pack of felt puffy stickers that I picked up for less than a dollar not too long ago.

havestampswillcraft merry valentine (2)   Then I gathered two sheets of paper, on for a background and one for little accents on the cards.

After attaching the paper layers on I added some Smooch and Shimmer spritz to add shine an shimmer to the cards then added a few accents on each card.

Here are the cards:

As you can see I was quickly able to make a set of six cards.

I don’t think anyone would guess that these cards started with a leftover holiday card kit.

Have you found any holiday items that you are using for Valentine or everyday decorations or crafts?

Christmas card keeper

I usually save the Christmas cards I receive for a while, in fact I still have a can full of Christmas cards from last year.  It was meant to be a temporary storage place but  turned out to last for quite some time.  This year I wanted something decorative and easy to display so I made a card keeper out of chipboard and leftover papers and accents.

DSCN0811

I started with some 8 x 8 chipboard pieces and covered them with holiday papers that I had left from a pad of papers.

DSCN0812

I added some chipboard, tissue tape, rhinestone accents and some other leftover stickers and accents.

DSCN0813

One new thing I used was some elastic trim which was a great find at my local Tuesday Morning store for $1.99.  White wasn’t going to work so I tinted it green with some Walnut Ink.

DSCN0814

I gathered scraps of holiday papers, punched them and made the pages of my card keeper.

DSCN0815

Then I gathered the cards I received and started taping them to the pages of my book.

DSCN0817 The card keeper ended up being rather thick with all the cards so the elastic trim helps keep the book closed.

I’m very happy to have a decorative place to store the cards I received using mostly leftover papers and other holiday embellishments I had.

Do you keep your holiday cards and if so how do you store them?

Happy New Year and a Thank you

I hope you and your family and friends all have a happy, healthy and safe new year.

I’m hoping this new year will bring more consistent blog postings from myself.  Not quite a resolution but I’m working on bringing more joy into my everyday life and blogging is something that I enjoy.  What are your resolutions or goals for the new year?

Another goal I always seem to have it to be a bit more organized and keep my crafting area a bit tidier.  In the spirit of keeping tidy, here is a thank you card I made with an unfinished Christmas card.  Rather than put it away for next year I thought it was a great base to make a thank you card.

   DSCN0805

I added some Smooch spritz and a metal embellishment to take an unfinished card to a card I’m happy to send out.

I’ll be starting the new year out doing one of America’s great past times – shopping. :)  Rather than watch the Rose Parade I’m braving the Mall of America with three teens in search of deals.  As you know holiday money, or any money, in the hands of teens is begging to be spent.

Again, wishing you a happy, healthy and safe new year.
