Luckily I got at least one good picture showing some ‘awe’ on my daughters face.

That’s what concert tickets do for a 13 year old.

I’m determined to get photos I love printed and into albums this year.  This deal should help with the printing.  Putting them into albums or scrapbooks will be a long work in progress but I’m working on it.

Happy New Year

$3 Thursday – Valentine card

I’ve been meaning to start making a few Valentine cards for the past few weeks and finally
made a card tonight to share
with you.
Cards can be made inexpensive to extravagant depending on the supplies you use.
This is a fairly simple card with no stamping.
I started with a silver cardstock base,
added a heart journaling shape
and inked them both with a red ink pad.
100_5243
Then I cut a image block from a patterned sheet of paper, distressed the edges and mounted
it on black cardstock.
100_5240
I punched a few holes in the fold of the card and ran some black floss around the front of the card.
Then I attached the mounted image
to the card with foam tape to
add a little dimension.
 100_5241
I curled the end of the floss into a spiral shape.

This card was fairly simple, taking only a few minutes to complete.

Most of my supplies were purchased on clearance some time ago with the exception of the journaling sheet.  I picked them up last week.
Supplies used:
Silver cardstock – on hand, about $.25 sheet
Patterned paper – on hand, about $.25 sheet
Heart journaling sheet - $2.40 for pack of 30
Black cardstock scrap–  craft supply
Black Scrappers Floss -  craft supply
Ink -  craft supply
Total cost ………….. $2.90 * this card

* Patterned paper has 24 blocks so a set of 24 cards could be made with 12 sheets of silver cardstock and 2 sheets of black cardstock bringing the cost of supplies for 24 cards to $6.15 or $.26 per card.
I don’t think you can beat a card for 26 cents each.
This just makes my heart sing…..

Great papers on sale

I usually don’t post much about TAC specials but this one is a good one and only good for a few days.
All TAC exclusive papers are 1/2 off.
Yep, half off.

I know I’m going to be stocking up, especially some of the More Mimi papers that I used on some of my Christmas cards this year.

The More Mimi SWIC is now only $3.48 for 5 double sided 12 x 12 sheets plus a sheet of tags.

Merry Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas….

The stockings were hung.

The presents are wrapped.

100_5101

The lights are low.

The tree is aglow.

I love the look of the ornaments at night.

  100_5107

I keep thinking that next year I want a new color but I just love the look of all the snowflakes on the tree.

Just a reminder,
Santa we’ve been good.
Well, maybe we could have been a bit better.

Regardless, wishing you and your family
Peace, Love and of course, Joy.

$3 Thursday – Art Freebies

I’m not feeling very creative this week so I thought I would share some pictures from the Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens at the Walker Art Center.

The weekend itself wasn’t free as we spent a night at a hotel and spent time shopping at an outlet mall and at the Mall of America in Bloomington but the sculpture gardens are free.

Most cities have lots of great freebies if you know where to look.

The Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens contains one of the most iconic images of Minneapolis, the Spoonbridge and Cherry.
This thing is HUGE.

It looks great from all angles.

This one reminds me of a postcard.

There are lots of great sculptures in the garden.

When we were there there was still a lot of blooming plants to enjoy as well as the sculptures.

When I look at these pictures I can’t help thinking of they saying ‘the end of the line’.
It was at the end of our time at the park, just before we headed back to the car to head home.

What great freebies are in your area?

Floral dry erase board

I finished this frame last week and I love it.
I think it is my favorite frame that I have redone to date.
Isn’t she pretty?

100_5050

I love the aqua frame with floral accents,

100_5051

the black and white fabric,

100_5056

and the fact that it can help get you organized

100_5053

as a dry erase board.

   100_5054

Well, it may help someone else get organized as I’ve listed this beauty.
She’s looking for a good home.
Contact me or check out the listing on my etsy site here if you are interested.

100_5055

I probably won’t be too disappointed if it sticks around here for a while but I gotta try and sell it.  I can’t keep all of my creations.  I don’t want to feel quite so bad when I find another great frame that I bring home for a makeover.
