I wanted to make a project for a stamping event I’m going to tomorrow and this is what I came up with. A book with a chocolate center. What could be better?
I used a copy of an old picture I had. I cut, tore and distressed it a bit more.
It is a bit hard to see but I stamped “All you need in life is a friend who has chocolate…I’m that friend”.
I used some ivory flowers.
A cameo I rescued from a dollar store hair band, then painted and distressed.
Ribbon to tie the book shut.
I punched holes for the ribbon and wrapped twine around it to give the ribbon a bit more vintage feel.
A few chocolate goodies tucked inside. M & M’s and Reese’s. Chocolate and peanut butter…. mmm.
I wrapped a bit of the twine around the picture too.
The background paper is stamped and inked.
Eyelets for the ribbon closure.
I think I’d like a whole library of books like this one.
I didn’t think to take pictures in progress… maybe this is why:
I started out with text background paper and paper CD holders.
I planned to make a mini album like this one.
This one had three folders but you can get numerous pages with accordion inserts.
Then I changed my mind to this Maya Road chipboard book.
I cut the pages out of the book and half of them apart.
Somehow the project that started out as a mini album turned into a secret chocolate stash book. Oh well, I guess it is the final results that usually count.
Funny thing….. That is my Mom on the left. Can you believe that she doesn’t like chocolate? Well, I should say she doesn’t like milk chocolate, she does eat some dark chocolate. I on the other hand prefer milk chocolate to most dark chocolate.
I’ll eat most chocolate, especially when there is peanut butter with it.
