I’ve been sick for the past week and the only crafts I’ve completed have been cards. I guess somehow they can be quick and easy to finish. Well quick and easy if you are copying a design you’ve seen.
This set of cards was inspired by this card I saw on a blog Cards by Kelly Jo.
I happened upon Kelly Jo’s blog and loved a lot of her cards. I might just end up copying a couple other ones.
I pulled out two 12 x 12 sheets of paper that I’ve had for years. Really, I think I got them in a kit from HSN or QVC, like 7 or 8 years ago. I pulled out three different colors of cardstock for the card bases.
My cards are all basically the same, just different sentiments and accents.
I left a couple of them blank so I can use for anything or add a sentiment to them later.
I can’t help but think of spring when I look at green and purple.
I like that the colors are a but muted and not too dark or bright.
I used paper ribbon, ribbon, buttons, flowers, brads and rhinestones as accents.
A little bit of scrappers floss in the button.
I inked the fabric covered brad with a light sand color because it was originally white and that was just too bright. I like the toned down tan color.
This butterfly was one of the last ones from a set of wedding accents. They are glittered vellum and adhesive to boot. They were a wonderful TJ Maxx find. You never know what you will find at TJ Maxx!
Supplies:
5 Sheets cardstock ~$.25 each
2 Sheets 12 x 12 scrapbook paper ~$.50 each
Punch craft supply
Misc accents craft supply
Total cost: $2.25 plus a few accents* for a set of 8 cards.
* I don’t usually cost out each accent but if I did I’m sure they would average 5-10 cents an item, keeping this card set under $3 without the envelopes. My envelopes usually cost about 5 cents each.
Hopefully I’ve have some fun craft to show you soon. I’m on the mend and seem to be getting some creative energy back. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish a project or two that I have started.
