Inspiration is everywhere

The internet and blogging in general has really allowed me to have a much broader area to glean creative inspiration.

Take my latest card creation.

I was inspired by this card from Something From Cassie.

Funny thing, her card was inspired by this card from Kim Kesti.

I did follow my inspiration fairly close.  One thing that drew me to the card was the different patterned papers and the fact that I owned some of the Sizzix dies that were used.

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve had the butterfly die for a more than a few months and hadn’t used it yet  Until today.

Looking at Kim’s yellow card you would never believe that is was the sudo-inspiration for the card I made.   They both have butterflies but that is pretty much it.  Who knows where Kim’s inspiration came from but it is fun to see what it will inspire.

My original card.

I used multiple layers but tried to keep the adhesive for the butterflies close to the center so the wings are able to float about the other layers.

My first card lead to a second card. 100_5984

Which lead to another card.

Looking back at the second card I made I knew it was missing something.  It was just a bit too blank on the bottom.  I looked at some Thank You rub-ons I had but figured that would be just too much like my inspiration card so I went looking threw my stash and came up with some happy anniversary rub-ons in silver.

Ahh, perfect.

Subtle and it ties in the Shimmer Spritz that I used.

Plus, anniversary cards are something that I rarely seem to make.

One more for my card stash.

I’m sure if I keep looking I’ll find some orange and blue papers like my inspiration but for now I’m sure I’ll play with the mostly pastel papers that I initially pulled out to work with.

Who knows what cards I’ll end up creating with them.
