I’ve been meaning to start making a few Valentine cards for the past few weeks and finally
made a card tonight to share
with you.
Cards can be made inexpensive to extravagant depending on the supplies you use.
This is a fairly simple card with no stamping.
I started with a silver cardstock base,
added a heart journaling shape
and inked them both with a red ink pad.

Then I cut a image block from a patterned sheet of paper, distressed the edges and mounted
it on black cardstock.
it on black cardstock.
I punched a few holes in the fold of the card and ran some black floss around the front of the card.
Then I attached the mounted image
to the card with foam tape to
add a little dimension.

I curled the end of the floss into a spiral shape.
This card was fairly simple, taking only a few minutes to complete.
Most of my supplies were purchased on clearance some time ago with the exception of the journaling sheet. I picked them up last week.
Supplies used:
Silver cardstock – on hand, about $.25 sheet
Patterned paper – on hand, about $.25 sheet
Heart journaling sheet - $2.40 for pack of 30

Black cardstock scrap– craft supply
Black Scrappers Floss - craft supply
Ink - craft supply
Total cost ………….. $2.90 * this card
* Patterned paper has 24 blocks so a set of 24 cards could be made with 12 sheets of silver cardstock and 2 sheets of black cardstock bringing the cost of supplies for 24 cards to $6.15 or $.26 per card.
I don’t think you can beat a card for 26 cents each.
This just makes my heart sing…..
