Have you ever done something so far out of your element and loved it so much that you don’t know why you haven’t done it before?
Well, I did just that with these two cards.
I still can’t believe that I made this card.
And I made this one too.
Every now and then I come across blogs that feature cards with beautifully colored images, multiple layers and lots of additional accents.
I’m not one to stamp and color images but I knew I had to try to make a multiple layer card with coloring. I immediately thought of this image of a girl from a TAC hostess set called One of a Kind. The patterned papers are from Basic Grey.
Out came my chalk pencils that rarely see the light of day. I was pretty happy with my coloring considering it isn’t something that I do often.
I love the metal embellishment with a touch of scrappers floss.
I did some sewing and layered paper flowers with brad centers.
More scrappers floss through the buttons.
My second card had lots of the same elements but in different colors and arrangements.
You don’t often see green flowers but I loved the added color it gave to the card.
Lots of scrappers floss around the card and through the buttons.
I used a couple different colors of eyelets.
I love the texture that the scrappers floss and buttons give.
I think I’m loving this little girl and I might just get to love coloring.
In fact, I think I’ll go and stamp her a few more times and make a few more cards since I loved the result of these two so much.
Sometimes it is good to get out of you usual element and see what you can do.
