Spooky treat box

Yesterday was a happy day.  I received a few items that will be available in the FSJ Holiday mini catalog going live next week on August 1st.  I'm a big Halloween fan so this wonky house from the Spooksville die set was the first thing I cut out.
I couldn't have a plain house and I love the my FSJ black sparkle washi so why not a sparkly, not so spooky, sparkly house.  I put washi tape side by side on Electric Lime cardstock then die cut out the house.  I added another piece of Electric Lime behind the diecut to look like lights on inside the house.
I then diecut two of the largest tags from the new Special Day Tags die set. I added some Black Licorice PanPastel to accent the edges and layered the two tags on top of each other.  I attached them to a Treat Box die. I cut a moon from Orange Creamsicle cardstock and attached to the Special Day Tags and then attached the sparkly, not so spooky Spooksville Die.

Halloween is big (and over two months long) at my day job and I like to make small little treat boxes. This Treat box would hold lots of candy to keep sugar levels and spirits up.

Do you make Halloween treats?

FSJ Deer Head card

Oh deer, how cute and giant is this deer head?  I've been wanting the Deer Head die from FSJ for a while and finally ordered it.  It arrived today and I couldn't wait to create with it.

This card came together quickly with brushed gold cardstock and Cozy Prints patterned paper.  I finished it off with a bit of Candy Apple Twine tied around his neck.

I love how quickly this card came together and how elegant it is.

Have you started making your holiday cards yet?

Deer card Make and Take

I've been "planning" scheduling card classes for a long time.  Monday I made myself call my local Hobby Lobby and see if there classroom was available for Tuesday. I thought why not cooki and do a Christmas card Make and Take first before a full class.  I couldn't get the room on that short of notice but I could get it on my next day off which happens to be Monday.  And so I designed two Christmas cards that I'll have for my Make and Take items.

This one uses some FSJ paper, Panpastels, Bread Tag die and stamp, the cardstock used was from my stash.

This second card is mainly from my stash with the Oh Deer sentiment from a retired FSJ set.

I can't wait to share my love of card making. Hopefully a few shoppers will stop in the classroom and make these cards.  They both should be relatively easy to duplicate.

Hello Love card

Hello,

After several years I'm determined to share my creative projects once again on my blog.
I loved making this one layer card for a challenge and thought it was the perfect reintroduction to blogging.
I pulled out a GelPress monoprint and cut to a tall almost #10 card size. I added a couple modeling paste accents as embellishments were allowed.

All products are from Fun Stampers Journey.
Updating my blog will be a work in progress for a little while and I hope you enjoy my creative projects.

Project Thanks

Boy how time has flown by.  I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted anything.  Not really feeling creative and I needed time to concentrate on me and get through some medical treatment.

For a long time I was kicking around an idea to show thanks for the support of my family and friends.  After a weekend with my sister's this spring I finally got my crafting mojo back and the idea morphed into a combination of using up some of my older craft supplies and making thank you cards to donate to out local cancer center.

I started about two months ago and packaged cards in sets of two and dropped them off.   I started with 10 packs I think and replenished every few days.  I was pleasantly surprised that people going through treatment needed the thank you cards.  To date I think I've dropped off just over 300 cards.  Most in packs of two but a few mini cards in packs of for.

The last two dropoffs were 50 packs three weeks apart.  There were two packs left so that seems to be a good amount and I plan to keep that up, 100 cards packaged in sets of two donated every three weeks.

If things go as planned I'll document the process of using up my supplies to make thank you cards for what I'm calling Project Thanks.

Silver and Pink Snowflake card

Wow, I really can't believe it has been so long since I have shared any project here on my blog.  I guess time just got away from me.  Not that I haven't been making crafts but mainly I've been making cards and here is one of the holiday cards I made.

Hot pink Christmas cards, sure why not?

Somehow I think they work with the silver embossed paper, glittered paper snowflake, pink accents and stripped ribbon.

Would you make, buy or send out hot pick and silver Christmas cards?
